Wow. We’ve had an intensely exciting and suspenseful week here at TH corporate headquarters.

Our house hunt went from cautionary to aggressively hopeful. Last Friday we viewed a couple houses for sale one neighborhood over from our apartment, an area we really love but never thought we’d be able to afford. One of those really felt like a good home for us on the inside, and it was on our mind all weekend during the Bottomley Picnic and Moyle Mingle camping gathering. We took a second look on Wednesday and decided to make an offer.

We signed the papers and delivered the offer on Thursday afternoon, and anxiously awaited a response for the next 24 hours. At the last minute Friday afternoon they responded with a counter offer, which we accepted within the hour. Papers signed, check written. We are now set to be homeowners, pending closing on August 14th, right around the corner. Bring on the IKEA gift cards!

Then today, (Saturday), after a night of celebratory camping and beer drinking last night at Devil’s Lake, I got the call offering me a position at Common Threads! Everything sounds as good or better than I imagined about the job, and the salary is much higher than I expected. I am thrilled! I won’t be starting until sometime in September, so I’ll still have some extra time for moving and wedding prep while my hours are still sparse.

So, everything is all coming together perfectly. We get an adorable house all our own, two full-time incomes, and then the wedding to look forward to. Now all thats left is getting rid of our apartment and deciding what kind of puppy to get!
