Team Hamlett - Corporate Weblog

First things first, I turned 26! Yeah, it was two weekends ago, so I’m a little behind. We (meaning teams Hamlett and Oliver) celebrated by riding some roller coasters and waterslides at Mt. Olympus in Wisconsin Dells. Aside from the lines being too long and the water being too cold, we had a pretty good time. We completed the trip by stopping at the outlet mall and then had a delicious dinner at Macaroni Grill (where we were also joined by Sundlings).

Then last weekend for pre-4th of July festivities we made a valiant effort to find a campsite but, upon failing, we decided to just set up camp in the Oliver’s backyard and cook some food on the grill. It turned out to be a nice little saturday. Turkey burgers, potatoes, and corn on the cob were delicious. Then we drove up the hill on Cottage Grove Road to a new area of development we call “Shinytown” to get a distant but clear view of the Rhythm & Booms fireworks. For future reference, if anyone knows of any sound-sensitive kids around Madison, Shinytown is a great place to see the fireworks without hearing the scary booms.

After fireworks we nerded it up back at Oliver HQ, where Ed hooked up a video projector outside and projected Nintendo Wii onto the garage wall. We were well entertained by outdoor Wii bowling and hunting rabbids while bundled up in sleeping bags. In the morning we went out for breakfast in Sun Prairie, a.k.a. “The Land that Time Forgot,” where we never have to wait for a table (that should be their slogan). We then proceeded to make an adventurous trip to Mayfair Mall in Milwaukee so that Jeff could buy an iPhone, and Kate and I could buy unders at Gap Body. There was also some tom foolery as Jeff and I entertained ourselves immaturely in the Lowe’s parking lot while waiting for Ed to return some house numbers (something markedly less immature- although he did of course join the foolery upon return).
